LiftPort has been invited to Judge the FIRST Lego League Nano Quest World Championship in Atlanta, Georgia at the Georgia Dome and Georgia World Congress Center, April 12-14, 2007. The FIRST Lego League is the result of an alliance between FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) and the LEGO company . FLL Teams are presented with real-world engineering challenges to develop important life-skills and to make positive contributions to society.
This last year, the FLL teams have been competing on a state and local level in the Nano Quest . The Nano Quest involved 9 missions from Individual Atomic Manipulation to operating a Space Elevator. The World Championship is the culmination of the last year's challenges. With 104 Teams from Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Faeroe Islands, France, Germany, Greenland, Hungary, Iceland, India, Israel, Japan, Jordan, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Peru, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, The Netherlands, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and the United States attending, this should be an exciting event.
