The LiftPort Book is Now Available!
We’ve talked about the LiftPort book here and there. You could even see the cover artwork online. People have probably given up on its ever being published, though, given that we were first talking about it two years ago. You may even have heard some of us grumbling about delays and problems in publishing, but guess what? It’s here! I took this photo this afternoon of the book standing on my dining room table.

You can buy it from our store right now. We’re extremely excited to see the book in print, and we’re looking forward to using it to help even more people learn about the space elevator.
If you haven’t heard yet, the LiftPort book (the full title is “LiftPort: Opening Space to Everyone” - maybe we’ll have stories about the title and the cover art at some later date) is a great combination of science fiction stories that involve the space elevator, AND articles covering real details about the space elevator, from technology to politics to law and more. Much more.
You can order your copy of the book from our online store. We prefer you buy it from us instead of Amazon or your local Barnes & Noble, because we’ll get to keep a much larger fraction of the book price. Or if you see us at a conference, we should have some with us to sell. Please support LiftPort - buy copies for you, your family, your neighbors and your local school teacher, and encourage your friends to pick up some too! (OK, maybe I’m not as suave a salesman as Joe, but you can’t deny my enthusiasm!)

Thanks to Bill Fawcett for putting the project together, and to Tom Marotta for organizing all the non-sci-fi authors.

The book looks very interesting! I may stop by at Barnes and Noble and pick up a copy (I’d order online, but the store is only a couple miles away from my house).
I know you guys (and gals) have been discussing space elevators on Earth, but what about other worlds such as the Moon and Mars?

Darnell,
Copies are not expected to arrive in local bookstores (B&N or others) for at least another week, perhaps two. FYI.
And we have been thinking about space elevators on the moon. Look for more details about that later in the summer.
