Hello Kickstarter!
My name is Laurie. I’ve already had the pleasure of speaking with some of you, but for those I haven’t, “Hi”. I have taken over Kickstarter fulfillment for LiftPort and will be seeing it through to the end. I’ve been at it for about a month now and there’s a lot to update you on. We have ribbon! If you’ve been follow out updates on our Youtube channel —and I hope you have—you know we got a HUGE spool of ribbon a few months ago. It’s awesome stuff! Check it out for yourself here. A piece of this ribbon is included in many of the reward levels as well as being the center piece of our handmade braided friendship bracelets with the LiftPort logo. Speaking of bracelets, everyone who contributed at the Friendship bracelet level was recently sent a survey to choose from the braid friendship bracelet featuring the Zylon or the beaded “Planetary” bracelet. We have the beaded bracelets done and in hand. (Click here to view the Planetary bracelet) In fact I just finished packaging them for shipping. The braided ones are coming along. These are a labor of love on my part as I am making each one AND the logo clasp/button – by hand.(Click here to view the braided bracelet) If you didn’t have a chance to contribute at the friendship bracelet level or you have friends/family that really want one too, don’t fret! We will be offering both styles on the LiftPort store at the end of the month. [Michael’s edit – I want to stress that Laurie is making each and every one of these herself; that means they are all unique but it is a time-consuming process! I have been wearing mine for about two weeks now and really like it. Conversely, we paid a group of ‘little old ladies’ from a local do-gooder group to craft the Planetary bracelets. I’m proud of both products – and the people that created them.] While we are on the subject of jewelry, the full set pieces are in progress. We have the bracelets and earrings finished. The necklaces are currently being created and once they are done the full sets will be packaged for shipping. We also have started work on the Carbon Nanotube Wedding Rings. I met with our jeweler and metal smith yesterday and I gotta say I am really excited about this reward! Carbon Nanotubes, in wedding rings! I have contacted every backer for this reward level so we can get started on the design process. I really can’t wait to see how amazingly beautiful these rings are. Next, Greeting Card. We decided to go with the classic postcard style. They have been ordered, printed, shipped, arrived last night, and are sitting on my desk. I am really pleased with how sharp these cards look, I think you will be as well. They start shipping today! Moving on the Art Prints. These are a work in progress. We have an artist and currently I am working with him to choose designs and styles. Many of you are signed up to be Card Carrying Supporters and that’s awesome! I have the survey replies from those of you who filled it out and will be getting that list to the printer later this week. There are over 3000 of these, so it will take a while. Make sure you respond to the survey to get your card customized! On to T-shirts, I have a long list of people who have not sent in their size information or style preference. I will be sending out a survey to collect this information. About half the shirts have been sent, and several people have posted pictures to Facebook. If you’ve already gotten yours, please post and tag it with your name, and with “Elsie LiftPort” and #Elsie. (You knew about our #LiftPort mascot, didn’t you?) Of course we have a few other reward levels to deal with and I assure you I am on it; but for now I am tackling these because they are the bulk of our backers and you have waited very patiently for your rewards. Thank you so much for your support and ongoing patience. I will keep you posted throughout this process. If you have question please feel free to email me at kickstarter@liftport.com. All the best, Laurie
